While the left criticized Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) for announcing he plans to visit with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, the lawmaker — who is up for election in 2028 — is cracking jokes.
CBS News confirmed on Thursday that Fetterman was heading to Florida to meet with the president-elect.
“I’m the Senator for all Pennsylvanians — not just Democrats in Pennsylvania,” he said in a statement reported by CBS. “I’ve been clear that no one is my gatekeeper. I will meet with and have a conversation with anyone if it helps me deliver for Pennsylvania and the nation.”

A Trump official told Politico that the men would likely have a “very robust and far-reaching conversation about policy" involving Cabinet nominees, the reconciliation package and energy.
“This is such a ‘pick-me’ move by John. I obviously hate it, but it’s also kind of hilarious and epic," a former Fetterman staffer told Politico.
News Nation's Kellie Meyer spoke with Fetterman outside his office Thursday afternoon and asked what he wants of Trump.
He jokingly replied that he wanted to be the "Pope of Greenland," a reference to Trump's desire to acquire the island that's currently part of Denmark.
