'I want to shake people': Ex-Trump aide questions why voters don’t believe former staffers

Gen. John Kelly told voters why he thinks his former boss, Donald Trump, is unfit for office.

In an audio interview with the New York Times, the former Trump chief of staff walked through all of the instances in which Trump did unacceptable things regarding the military. Kelly joins many former officials and staff who have tried to warn the public against voting for Trump.

One of those former staffers, Alyssa Farah Griffin, who served as White House communications director, conveyed her frustration to her new colleagues at "The View."

During the opening segment, Griffin confessed, "I want to shake people and say, 'Why are you not believing this? How many more four-star generals need to tell you the truth about who this man is?' He is so dangerous."

She said that for four years, people have been sounding the alarm about the danger that Trump poses.

"Gen. John Kelly is somebody who was so highly regarded by everyone in Trump's west wing. He was seen, even by the most loyal Trump advisers, as a steadying force. And the fact that today, Trump's defenders are choosing to impugn a four-star general to defend a politician shows there's an unwillingness to ever stand up for what's right."

This isn't the first time the U.S. has been faced with a moment like this, she said.

"Where so many senior military officials who directly served under Donald Trump and senior officials like myself are warning about his character, his infidelity to the constitution, how he views our military," Griffin conveyed.

She went on to say that she would never lose hope that people would one day believe them.

"I'm never going to lose hope. I'm not going to. But how many more people do we need to hear from? A gold star father lost his son in combat after himself serving in combat?" she asked.
