John Legend explains to Bill Maher why he wouldn't play R. Kelly music at a party

Musician and activist John Legend on Friday explained to HBO's "Real Time" host Bill Maher that he would not play R. Kelly's music at a party.

Maher noted that Legend was one of the only major stars to appear in the new documentary Surviving R. Kelly, which details allegations of sexual and physical abuse by the musician.

Legend discussed how the powerlessness of the victims allowed the predation to continue.

When asked, Legend says he would not play R. Kelly's music at a party.
