John Oliver rants against publicly shaming people -- except Fox News host Tucker Carlson -- who deserves all of it

HBO's John Oliver has officially gone after how people have internet-shamed someone after they did something stupid, appeared to do something stupid or are someone ignorant.

Oliver explained that the biggest problem is that some people do deserve a public shaming. His example: Tucker Carlson. The Fox News host was outed for racist, misogynistic and xenophobic statements he made on a radio show.

But on the other hand, the so-called "worst aunt ever," was attacked after she was forced to sue her nephew after he accidentally broke her wrist jumping into her arms. The family knew that she didn't have health insurance and couldn't pay for her medical bills. The only way she could pay for it was through the family's homeowners insurance policy. The family understood and were fine with it, but Fox promoted the #WorstAuntEver hashtag.

The host explained that in the past their show has outed and attacked many on their show, but that they weigh it heavily before they do it. In the recent story about parents who scammed their way into the college. Oliva Jade is one of the students that has been mocked for her mother Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on "Full House."

He noted that the window of mocking Olivia Jade is quickly closing, though he drew attention to the irony of her having her initials O.J. at her USC dorm room. The best, however, came from an online poster who rated her makeup line as one star and said "I thought this would give me the just-came-from-crew-practice glow ... but it turns out it's all a sham." Oliver encouraged people to talk about Aunt Becky as the real #WorstAuntEver.

Oliver admitted that he was among many comedians that made jokes about Monica Lewinsky that wasn't just public shaming but far worse. Jay Leno, however, was one of the worst offenders, who still hasn't apologized for slut-shaming, and naming her as the person to attack instead of President Bill Clinton. Somehow, the scandal was named after her, and as such she will never escape it.

In an interview, Lewinsky said that bullying like what happened to her had gotten much worse thanks to the internet. She thought about changing her name, but she felt like it would never work and that Clinton never had to change his name. No one ever asked him to.

Ironically, the top story came after Oliver mocked Sean Hannity for repeating the same stupid joke about being Irish for years.
