Man breaches Joint Base Andrews and boards aircraft ahead of Biden’s trip: military

A man who illegally accessed Joint Base Andrews in Maryland has been charged with trespassing, Star and Stripes reports.

The man, who has not been identified, was detained after he entered a C-40 aircraft on the base, which famously houses Air Force One. The man was turned over to local law enforcement for two outstanding warrants.

Officials say the man was not armed and no one was injured during the incident. He breached the installation one day before President Joe Biden was scheduled to leave from the base on his first trip as president.

"The security of our installation is paramount," said Col. Roy Oberhaus, the vice wing commander of the 316th Wing at Joint Base Andrews. "This was a serious breach of security and Joint Base Andrews is investigating the incident to determine how this happened, so it doesn't happen again."
