Jon Stewart loves the dummies at CNN so much, he wants you to help him buy it

Reacting to news that media mogul Rupert Murdoch is attempting to purchase media conglomerate Time Warner, and would then be forced to divest himself of its CNN subsidiary,  Daily Show host  Jon Stewart announced the launch of a Kickstarter campaign to purchase the much-mocked news network

The Daily Show host went as far as to set up letsbuycnn.com with a list of potential rewards for Kickstarter investors.

"Rupert Murdoch is in the news," Stewart exclaimed. "What did he do now? Publish royal up-skirts, phone-hack orphans, eat a dingo who had just recently eaten a baby?'

Sharing a clip of CNN host Erin Burnett explaining that Murdoch, who had his offer of $80 billion turned down by Time Warner, repeatedly attempts to purchase media properties until he finally acquires them, Stewart called the aging businessman the "date rapist of media barons."

Reacting to Burnett's questioning of why the aged Murdoch would attempt the purchase ("Why is he doing this right now? He is old, but he is sharp as a tack. His physical appearance does not match his mental acuity.") Stewart noted, "I mean he's a great businessman, but he farts dust. I mean , he's got a face like a rotting pumpkin, but he's charming."

Following Burnett guest Brian Stelter explaining that Murdoch would have to divest himself of CNN, since he couldn't own both CNN and Fox, Stewart pointed out the selling price would be about $10 billion.

"That's a lot of money for anyone, but not a lot of money for everyone," Stewart explained. "Which is why tonight we are starting our Kickstarter campaign to buy CNN."

Stewart added, "If you want to see this happen, you make a pledge, for whatever you're comfortable with. Five dollars... ten dollars...but just keep in mind: we need ten billion dollars."

As a reward for investors, Stewart offered an opportunity to "take molly with Fareed Zakaria," for $25,000. For $5 million CNN "will air a 24-hour, two-week hunt for your lost car keys."
