Julian Assange refuses to hand Trump documents over to House Judiciary Committee: report

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is refusing to comply with a documents request from the House Judiciary Committee for files related to President Donald Trump.

Politico reported Thursday that Assange's attorney Barry Pollack cited the constitution when explaining in a statement why his client won't hand the documents over.

"The First Amendment dictates that an inquiry by Congress should not begin by issuing requests to journalists for documents pertaining to its newsgathering," Pollack told Politico.

One of the 81 individuals and entities that the Democrat-controlled committee has subpoenaed for information pertaining to Trump, Assange is joined by former Trump campaign deputy chairman Rick Gates in declining the panel's request.
