Former Vice President Kamala Harris furiously bashed President Donald Trump during a new podcast interview, according to a report.
HuffPost reported on Thursday that Harris discussed the Trump administration's use of food stamps as political leverage on a new episode of comedian Jon Stewart's "The Weekly Show" podcast. She described his tactics as a "grand gesture" of destruction.
"Are you f------ kidding me?” Harris said about the brinksmanship displayed over food assistance.
“This guy wants to create a ballroom for his rich friends while completely turning a blind eye to the fact that babies are going to starve when the SNAP benefits end in just hours from now,” she added.
HuffPost described Harris' demeanor as "furious."
“I’m not going to be distracted by oh, does the guy have a big f------ hammer?” she continued. “What about those babies!”
Trump and Republicans have blamed the month-long government shutdown on Democrats, saying they want to provide health care for illegal aliens. Federal law prohibits illegal aliens from recieving federal health care benefits already.
If the government doesn't reopen by Nov. 1, more than 40 million Americans could lose their food assistance benefits, according to estimates.
