Kamala Harris grills Trump's nominee to replace Brett Kavanaugh for her victim-blaming rape rants

During testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, the candidate selected by President Donald Trump to fill the seat vacated by now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh came under intense grilling by Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) for comments she made in college dismissing women's claims of date rape.

Appearing before the committee, Federal Appeals Court nominee Neomi Rao attempted to distance herself from her own college writings where she suggested women who drink too much bear responsibility for possible sexual assault.

The persistent Harris asked her if she believes that "no mean no" and Rao said she did, before trying to move past her earlier comments by saying, "I would not express myself that way today."

During her testimony, she also said, "When I was in college it was a time of exploration,” adding, "In the intervening two decades, I like to think that I’ve matured as a thinker and a person.”
