Kari Lake squirms when asked who stole her election: 'I don't want to look backwards'
February 20, 2024
Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate turned Senate candidate Kari Lake deflected when asked in a new radio interview who, exactly, she is accusing of having stolen her previous election in 2022, The Arizona Republicreported on Tuesday.
Lake, a former Phoenix-area news anchor who became a firm supporter of former President Donald Trump, has become infamous since losing her election to Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs for refusing to concede the results and filing a long string of unsuccessful lawsuits to try to get the election result thrown out.
But pressed in her appearance on KTAR radio, she didn't want to explain any of this.
"The interview shifted to Lake’s ongoing efforts to overturn her loss in the 2022 gubernatorial race. Lake was asked who stole the election from her and how they did it. She noted that she wasn’t the one raising the issue, then conceded she lacked the details of the 'rigged' election she has widely discussed," reported Ronald Hansen.
"'I don’t want to sit and look backwards,' Lake said. 'These lawsuits are meant to make sure that going forward our elections are strong.' Pressed again on her allegation of theft, Lake said the elections 'are run very poorly.'"

During the interview, Lake also suggested the United States should abandon Ukraine and claimed that using medication for abortion puts women's health in danger.
Despite her previous loss, Lake commands significant power in the current Arizona Republican Party, which appears set to all but hand the Senate nomination to her without a serious contest. Earlier this year, state party chair Jeff DeWit was forced to resign after Lake videotaped him appearing to try to bribe her to leave the race. He maintains that Lake entrapped him.
Arizona's incumbent senator, independent Kyrsten Sinema, has not given any solid indication of whether she plans to seek another term, as her polling and fundraising have dried up since she left the Democratic Party. If she does, she will likely have to compete with both Lake and the Democratic frontrunner, Rep. Ruben Gallego.
Lake recently made strange accusations, blaming Illuminati-esque elements for allegedly impinging on the good works of former President Donald Trump and unleashing viruses.
“These are some of the most corrupt, disgusting evil people in the world,” Lake told Real America’s Voice. “They’re pushing this globalist agenda and they don’t care who they destroy in the process."
"They’ve got to win and get that globalist agenda moved forward and the one man that’s most dangerous to that globalist agenda — which by the way, will be the end of America, the globalist agenda — the one man standing in their way is the man you just saw on your screen, President Donald J. Trump."
She continued: “And that is why they unleashed viruses, they’ve tried to destroy economies, they’ve tried to shut down the country — to stop him.”
