President-elect Donald Trump's intentions to appoint Kash Patel to lead the FBI sparked a backlash among the national security and intelligence world, but now former President Bill Clinton is sounding the alarm on another concern.
Speaking to the co-hosts of "The View" on Wednesday, Clinton was asked about the idea of preemptively pardoning scores of Democrats who may be on Trump's target list.
Sunny Hostin noted that Hillary Clinton is on Patel's list of targets.

"Well, they got a problem with her because — first, she didn't do anything wrong," said Clinton about his wife's "email" scandal.
"Second, she followed the rules exactly as they were written," he said about the laws that once applied to email communications in the federal government. The laws were changed after Clinton's time at the State Department in 2014.
"Third," Clinton continued, "Trump's State Department, Trump's State Department found — remember how the emails were such a big issue in 2016. Trump's State Department found that Hillary sent and received exactly zero classified emails on her personal device. It was a made-up phony story."
"So, you know, I guess if Kash Patel is determined to make one up, he could do it, but I think if President [Joe] Biden wanted to talk to me about that, I will talk to him about it, but I don't think I should be giving public advice on the pardon power," Clinton continued.
He explained that he believes pardoning is personal to a president that goes toward their own beliefs. He hoped, however, that Biden wouldn't issue sweeping pardons to those on the GOP's target list.
"You know, most of us get out of this world ahead of where we'd get if all we got was simple justice. And, so, it's normally a fool's errand. And to spend a lot of that time trying to get even," Clinton continued, trailing off.
