Kellyanne Conway dismisses Trump's latest bullying of female reporter: 'I get lots of threats' too

Appearing on CNN with Wolf Blitzer, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway breezily dismissed complaints that her boss was singling out a female reporter at his rallies, putting her safety in danger from taunting Trump fans.

Campaigning in Miami on Wednesday, Trump complained to his fans that the media was not covering his rallies fairly, calling the reporters, "the most dishonest people," before focusing on MSNBC’s Katy Tur.

“Katy, you’re not reporting it, Katy,” Trump said, while pointing repeatedly at the woman. “But there’s something happening, Katy. There’s something happening, Katy!”

During the primaries, Tur was forced to ask for protection from Secret Service agents from Trump followers after she was pointed out by the eventual GOP candidate.

Asked about Trump's latest antics -- with Conway admitting she had cautioned Trump about attacking reporters from the stump -- Conway sidestepped Trump's most recent comments.

"Look, we want fair coverage and we want to be safe at our rallies," she began. “I don’t appreciate a lot of threats I get either … People, I guess, are worried that we’ll win this thing.”

"Lot of folks out there who should tamp it down and I'm glad that you played the entire clip," she added. "Because he's not asking people to be mean to her. He's not asking people to do anything, God forbid. He basically calls out some people in the media he wants to show our crowds."
