Friend claims he lied when he posted that shooting victim Gaige Grosskreutz wished he'd killed Kyle Rittenhouse

Testifying in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial on Wednesday, Jacob Marshall addressed social media postings that he'd written saying that Gaige Grosskreutz wished that he had killed Rittenhouse, Law&Crime captured.
Grosskreutz, who isn't on trial, was shot and wounded by Rittenhouse. Afterward, Marshall wrote: "I just talked to Gaige Grosskreutz. His only regret was not killing the kid and hesitating to pull the gun before emptying the entire mag into him."
Grosskreutz had a gun on him and was only shot in the arm while Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber were shot and killed by Rittenhouse, who says it was in self-defense.
Rittenhouse's attorney, Corey Chirafisi, asked if Grosskreutz stated that to Marshall.
"No," Marshall replied. "He never said that to me."
"You just posted something about your friend — your roommate — that was a lie?" Chirafisi asked.
"I did. Given the circumstances and all the threats received on the internet, I'd never been put in a position like that. Addresses of ours were posted. You know — my mother was getting inboxed, my sister. It was insane with everything going on at the time. I mean — a bad remark — I was trying to stick up for my friend at that time who — you know — he didn't know any of this was going on. He didn't see the posts."
Marshall insisted he "lied" about Grosskreutz's remarks.
"He never said that. Those words had never came out of his mouth," said Marshall.
When the prosecution questioned Marshall, he claimed that he was scared for his friend and that he and his family were being inundated with death threats and other attacks from supporters of Rittenhouse.
He said that the messages were "in the hundreds."
Marshall admitted that his statement on social media was a poor way to stick up for his friend.
