Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump criticized Democrats for trying to win on what she said were "niche issues like abortion."
During a Monday interview on Real America's Voice, host David Brody confronted Trump on the issue of abortion.
"The suburban woman vote, we hear about that, we hear about the Democrats going to take advantage of the abortion issue, and let's be honest, I mean, the Republicans have bungled this since Roe v. Wade," Brody said. "I mean, you know, it's back to the states, great, but they never had a strategy of kind of going forward, that's the truth."
"And so the Democrats have capitalized on it," the host noted. "And so it's kind of become an Achilles heel, if you will."
"Because that is where the Democrats are going to think they can make a play with those college-educated women in the suburbs."
For her part, Trump downplayed the issue of abortion.

"Yeah, well, let's be honest, what are the Democrats actually running on?" she asked. "What is their candidate, Kamala Harris, pitching to the American people that they want to buy? And the truth is nothing."
"And so you're right, they are focusing on very niche issues like abortion, something that, as Donald Trump has continued to say, has gone back to the states now," she added. "Donald Trump has said, I do not want to sign a federal abortion ban. I don't want to have anything to do with abortion because that should not be mandated by the federal government."
