If you've ever done interviews with lots of voters, you realize that some people make decisions on which candidate to support for rather strange reasons. Exhibit A of this comes to us courtesy of Politico reporter Michael Grunwald, who talked on Twitter Monday about meeting a Latino Democrat in Florida this weekend who said he's voting for Trump just to see what will actually happen.
"The whole system is fucked," said the man, whom Grunwald says is a 32-year-old Democrat who works at a bank. "Why not vote for the craziest guy, so we can see the craziest shit happen?"
What makes this truly weird is that the voter told Grunwald that he voted for Obama twice and would do so again were he up for reelection this year. When Grunwald asked him why he'd still vote for Obama but not Hillary Clinton this year, the man gave him a rather depressing answer.
"We got ISIS, we got Zika, we got this, we got that," he said. "At least Trump is fun to watch. Politics sucks, man."
There's no arguing with that, although it's easy to imagine Trump will be a lot less "fun to watch" when he has the power of the FBI, IRS, and the United States Armed Forces at his disposal.
