Laura Ingraham became hostile with pregnant staffer -- then fired her one day after maternity leave: lawsuit

A new lawsuit is claiming that Fox News host Laura Ingraham grew hostile toward an assistant once she learned of her pregnancy -- and then fired her one day after she returned from maternity leave.

The Washington Post reports that Karolina Wilson, who worked for 16 months as Ingraham's personal assistant, is suing Ingraham for what she alleges is pregnancy discrimination that is barred by Washington DC's Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and its Family and Medical Leave Act.

According to the lawsuit, Wilson had a solid working relationship with Ingraham until she announced that she was pregnant last March. After this, she claims, the Fox host began treating her with hostility -- and she says that Ingraham initially only offered her one week of maternity leave to take care of her baby.

Despite this alleged hostility, Wilson continued working for Ingraham right before she went into labor in early August last year, two weeks before she was due to give birth. On the day that she returned to work two months later, she was notified that she was being terminated from her position, and that the woman who had replaced her during her maternity leave would permanently take her job.

Ingraham allowed Wilson to stay on at her company for three weeks after her termination notification so she could collect unemployment insurance -- but during that time, Wilson alleges that the company refused to set up a private space for her to pump breast milk, which means she had to resort to pumping milk in her car that was located in a parking garage.

Ingraham's attorney, Betty S.W. Graumlich, has denied all allegations while saying that she and Ingraham "look forward to litigating this case vigorously."
