Lead pastor out at Highpoint church after accusations of sexual assault: report

Chris Conlee, lead pastor of Highpoint Church, in Tennessee submitted a resignation letter to his staff after ongoing sexual abuse claims, reported Action 5 News.

A statement released by the church said: “It is with profound sorrow that we share with you the news that Chris [Conlee] has resigned as Lead Pastor of Highpoint. We have arrived at a point of respectfully agreeing to go in different directions for the Kingdom."

Conlee, has been swept up in sexual assault allegations. He served under the leadership of Andy Savage, who was accused of raping a teenage girl right before preaching a sermon about purity.

Savage resigned from his position in March.
