Bill Maher said he had never heard of Republican House speaker Mike Johnson until he was elevated to that position, but that doesn't mean the popular TV host has nothing to say about the lawmaker.

"Loves Jesus, hates democracy," Maher added Friday.

On abortion issues, he said Johnson is "pro-life."
"He says life begins at insurrection," he joked.
Maher then goes on to discuss Johnson's stated views on homosexuality.
"And he absolutely hates gay sex," Maher added. "Especially when he's having it."
Maher joked that Johnson wants to criminalize gay sex because "that makes it hotter."
Maher goes on to poke fun at Johnson purportedly seeking to enact laws against sodomy and anal sex. He called Johnson's election a "gift to Democrats."
"Finally, something to get the young people to the polls," Maher quipped Friday night.
