Former Trumpworld attorney Lin Wood's bizarre rantings were revealed in newly-released transcripts of grand jury testimony for President Donald Trump's criminal election racketeering case in Georgia.
Wood, who gave up his law license in the face of disbarment threats after his own role in the plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election, has engaged in behavior that has even alienated most of Trump's other allies. He has unsuccessfully sued fellow lawyers for being "Deep State extortionists," called COVID-19 distancing measures a "Satanic ritual," and more recently claimed the late right-wing youth activist Charlie Kirk was a covert operative against Trump.
In Wood's transcript, he remained in similar form, accusing fellow far-right Trump allies and election conspiracy theorists Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn of waging psychological warfare to make the public think he had gone insane.
"So why do you think they pulled you into this, and they're putting you in these situations without your permission?" asked a grand juror at one point. "I mean, for what purpose?"
"To destroy my reputation and make people think I'm not believable," said Wood. "I believe I've been subjected to a number of psychological operations, where the goal is to literally paint somebody who is mentally ill, causing them to end up having a nervous breakdown."
He went on to also suggest, "I don't believe Mike Flynn and Sidney Powell are Trump supporters. Whether Mike Flynn was looking to run for President in 2024, I don't know. There certainly had been discussions about it."
