Sarah Longwell, publisher of The Bulwark and longtime GOP pollster, sharply criticized Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for what she characterized as obsequious behavior during a Meet the Press interview Sunday.
Graham claimed Sen. Bill Cassidy's (R-LA) primary loss was beneficial for the Republican Party, prompting Longwell to describe the interview as revolting.
On the Bulwark Takes podcast, Longwell highlighted Graham's dramatic transformation from President Donald Trump critic to loyal supporter, recalling his 2015 statement that the GOP would "get crushed" under Trump as nominee.
She also referenced a video Graham made in the 2016 primary, showing himself golfing and destroying Trump's phone number.
In the time since, Graham became a staunch Trump defender, supporting the Iran war and backing Trump-endorsed candidates challenging Republicans like Thomas Massie (R-KY) who supported Epstein victims.
"The extent to which [Graham is] willing to deeply humiliate himself knows no bottom as best I can tell," Longwell concluded.
