Lindsey Graham threatens to subpoena Rod Rosenstein over DOJ discussions about ousting Trump

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Thursday threatened to subpoena deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to make him answer questions about discussions in the Department of Justice about ousting President Donald Trump in 2017.

"I'd like to know what happened," Graham said, according to Fox News reporter Jason Donner. "You’re having a conversation about whether or not you're gonna invoke the 25th Amendment... I would imagine if the shoe were on the other foot my Democratic colleagues would want to know about that conversation if it involved a Democrat."

Former deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe on Thursday revealed that the DOJ in May 2017 had discussions about recruiting Vice President Mike Pence and other members of Trump's cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment and declare that the president is unable to discharge his duties as outlined in the United States Constitution.

According to "60 Minutes" reporter Scott Pelley, McCabe says that DOJ officials were "counting noses" in the White House about which cabinet officials would most likely agree with their plan to remove Trump, although they never formally asked any cabinet members to invoke the 25th amendment.
