'You don't believe what you're doing?' Defected Dem grilled in tense interview
Lindy Li has made a name for herself in recent months as a defector from the Democratic Party, gravitating into Republicans' orbit following her time working as a fundraiser for former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, and promising to come out with a tell-all book about the shady practices in the Democratic National Committee.
But independent reporter Tara Palmeri had some simple questions for Li on her show, released Wednesday, about just how real Li's status as a Democratic insider ever was, or how sincere her change of political heart is now.
Already, some figures within the Democratic Party have come forward with receipts, saying Li was never a significant party official, and that all her claims now to have raised criticisms of Biden's fitness for office in 2024 — only to be silenced — have no basis in reality.

Palmeri sought to get to the bottom of these claims, and under interrogation, Li grew visibly agitated.
"It's fair. People can totally change," said Palmeri. "But the question is, you worked for a campaign."
"I didn't have a choice!" shot back Li.
"Yes you did, nobody has to work with that," said Palmeri.
"You're not getting it!" said Li. "Politics was my entire life. What do I do without politics? Should I become a teacher or something? I mean, are you asking me to change my profession?"
"So you don't believe what you're doing?" Palmeri shot back. "I actually think that if you're going to stand up and speak for other people as a surrogate, if you're going to work for a campaign, you know, and now you're going to come out with a book, like, you should believe in what you're saying. Like, if you didn't believe it then, how are we supposed to believe you now?"
"This is my truth, take it or leave it," said Li. "I don't need you, Tara Palmeri, I don't need you to believe me. This is just my truth, and I have the receipts."
Palmeri isn't alone among commentators questioning Li's switch. Last month, Li sat for an interview with far-right MAGA commentator Eric Bolling on Real America's Voice, and he was likewise skeptical that her defection was authentic.
