Logic performs his tribute to Chester Bennington at Grammys with global message of peace: 'You are not sh*tholes'

Rapper Logic performed his wrenching tribute he wrote to Chester Bennington, the Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots singer and songwriter who committed suicide in 2017.

At the close of the tribute, Logic celebrated those who strive for equality and hope.

"Black is beautiful, hate is ugly," he began. "Women are as precious as they are strong as anyone I have ever met and unto them I say: stand tall and crush all predators under the weight of your heart that is full of love that no one will ever take away from you."

He encouraged those to stay and fight for everyone -- not just for yourself.

"Do not be scared to use your voice, especially in instances like these when you have an opportunity," he continued. "Stay and fight for those who are not weak but have yet to discover the strength that the evil of this world has done its best to conceal."

In a pro-immigrant message he denounced global hate and harkened back to the message on the Statue of Liberty, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free."

"To all the beautiful countries filled with culture, diversity and thousands of years of history, you are not sh*tholes!" he exclaimed as the audience began a standing ovation."

"Lastly, on behalf of those who fight proudly in a world that is not equal, not just and not ready for the change we are here to bring, I say unto you: give us your tired, your poor and any immigrant who seeks refuge. For together, we can build not just a better country, but a world that is destined to be united."
