The walls are closing in on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. On Tuesday, MSNBC Ari Melber played a contradicting throwback video of both Paul Manafort and Julian Assange.
Manafort served as President Donald Trump's campaign manager, and Assange is the founder of WikiLeaks.
"One month before the infamous Trump Tower meeting where all those people met with the Russians in an effort to get dirt on Hillary Clinton--and then consider this," Melber said.
"It was the very next month that the Republican platform mysteriously changed to be more friendly towards Russia, and by that time, WikiLeaks had begun putting out hacked material from the DNC, and Paul Manafort was getting publicly pressed on his ties to Russia."
He then played a throwback video of them talking about the Russia hacks.
"Things look a little different now, " Melber noted.
Manafort was busted for lying under a plea deal this week and a new report revealed that Manafort and Assange met months before the 2016 U.S. election.
