Manchin blasts Trump's Obamacare lawsuit with a shotgun as red-state Dems unite against the president

This week, President Donald Trump repeated his promise to gut Obamacare, despite protestations from administration officials.

But the issue might just unite Democrats ahead of 2020.

On Wednesday, NBC News reporter Benjy Sarlin observed that although Democrats have decided when it comes to more progressive health policy like single payer, they are united in protecting the Affordable Care Act.

"Democrats are divided on single-payer, extremely united against Obamacare repeal," Sarlin observed.

"HOW united? Here's Joe Manchin shooting a copy of Trump's ACA lawsuit with a shotgun."

He pointed out West Virginia is pretty solidly Trump country.

"Trump won the state by 42 points, Manchin won re-election in November."
