Marco Rubio warns Republicans against embracing WikiLeaks: 'Tomorrow it could be us'

While a lot of Republicans are eagerly combing through all the juicy revelations being churned up by the WikiLeaks dump of Clinton campaign emails, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) isn't joining them.

In an interview with ABC News, Rubio warned Republicans that WikiLeaks is not their ally and could easily turn on the GOP after the election.

"As our intelligence agencies have said, these leaks are an effort by a foreign government to interfere with our electoral process and I will not indulge it,” Rubio said. "Further, I want to warn my fellow Republicans who may want to capitalize politically on these leaks: Today it is the Democrats. Tomorrow it could be us."

Rubio also said that he would "not discuss any issue that has become public solely on the basis of WikiLeaks" during this campaign cycle.

The one-sided nature of WikiLeaks' disclosures has led to speculation that the information is being provided to the website by Russian intelligence agencies in an attempt to swing the presidential election to Donald Trump, who is the Kremlin's preferred candidate this year.

Rubio, who is known for his hawkish foreign policy views, probably understands that he would likely be a target of Russian hacking attempts were he to run for president again in the future.
