‘Awful, racist, sexist’: Tables turned on Republican for whitewashing Michelle Obama attacks

Fox News contributor Marie Harf pushed back on former Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) after he seemed to forget about the racist and sexist attacks Michelle Obama faced while she was first lady of the United States.

During a discussion about allegedly sexist attacks on Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis, Chaffetz argued that only conservative women faced criticism.

"Do they ever do this, the Democrats? Oh, no, no, no, no," he said.

"Yes, they did," Harf pointed out.

"They do not," Chaffetz insisted.

"Michelle Obama?" Harf said. "Do you, I'm sorry, have we all, like, did we sleep through the eight years of Obama where conservative media said the most awful, racist, sexist things about Michelle Obama?"

"I don't think any of this should be said," she added. "I think women in politics, especially spouses, are held to a standard that is sexist. It's unfair."
