Mark Zuckerberg eyes future in politics, court filings show — but fears giving up Facebook control

Get ready, America: It looks like there's yet another billionaire who wants to get involved with running the government.

The Guardian reports that some recently filed court documents show that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is weighing a potential future in politics.

Specifically, the publication finds that "text messages excerpted in the court documents reveal that Zuckerberg and two board members discussed the CEO’s possible government service, and argued about how to present it to shareholders."

Among other things, Facebook board member Marc Andreessen sent Zuckerberg a text telling him that he'd have to figure out a way to present his interest in future "government service" so that he didn't "[freak] out shareholders that you are losing commitment" to running the company.

Andreessen went on to say that if Zuckerberg did decide to get into public service -- either by running for office or taking a high-level appointment in the government -- he would face a lot of pressure to relinquish control of Facebook.

Whether Zuckerberg does decide to get into politics is unclear at this point, but it seems it's definitely something on the Facebook CEO's radar.
