Martin Freeman mashes up 'The Office' and 'The Hobbit' in hilarious SNL parody

On last night's episode of Saturday Night Live, host Martin Freeman reprised two of his most ironic roles -- Tim Canterbury on the BBC version of The Office, and Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit films -- for "The Office: Middle Earth."

It begins with Bilbo Baggins speaking directly to the camera, informing the interviewers what he's been up to.

"I went on a quest, saved Middle Earth," he said, "became a bit of a hero, then did the noble thing and turned down loads of treasure. So, the brave Bilbo Baggins now works at a paper company. And I drive a Jetta, now."

After that brief update as to his post-Battle of the Five Armies life, the skit recapitulated some of the greatest moments from the BBC version of The Office -- many of which also appeared in the American adaptation -- including the infamous staple-in-jello prank and the inappropriately racist penis jokes.
