Michael Cohen's book deal falls apart after his partner agrees to cooperate with prosecutors

Michael Cohen had hoped to score major cash with his book deal of a tell-all memoir on his life as President Donald Trump's "fixer." When his partner agreed to cooperate with authorities to avoid 20 years in prison, however, the book deal has been shelved.

The Daily Beast reported Thursday that they have seen the book proposal, but that the deal sources say he negotiated with conservative publisher Center Street is on hold. It is unknown whether it was Center Street or Cohen himself that pulled the book. When the site called for comment, Cohen demanded to know "Who is this?" The line was then silent.

Stormy Daniels' attorney Michael Avenatti has spent months trolling Cohen as well as Trump about everything from thuggish behavior to alleging Cohen is a bad lawyer.

"In my experience, it is never a good idea for a guy who is under criminal investigation to be writing a book about the very topics for which he’s being investigated,” Avenatti told The Beast. “How stupid could you be?”

He noted that if he were Cohen's attorney, he would urge the book to be killed. In a series of tweets, Avenatti also predicted that others would follow Cohen's business partner in flipping.

His book pitch takes a shot at others who have tried to publish books about their short time with Trump. Cohen made the case that his book would go beyond the "arms reach" and give a historic perspective on the president.
