FLINT, Michigan — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday suggested United Auto Workers and Detroit Three negotiators should "be locked in a room" until tentative agreements are reached as the union's unprecedented simultaneous strike surpassed the length of its national walkout against General Motors Co. in 2019.
