Michigan's Bergman is officially running for House speaker

Washington― Four-term Michigan U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman said Friday he's officially seeking the House Republican nomination to be speaker after Ohio's Jim Jordan earlier in the day lost that designation in a closed-door vote. The secret-ballot vote by the House Republican Conference at the Capitol came after Jordan, the flame-throwing Judiciary Committee chairman, lost a third ballot on the House floor Friday morning with 25 of his GOP colleagues rejecting him.
