Steve Bannon's daughter slams Mike Johnson as she admits dad will serve 'full' jail term

The daughter of right-wing figure Steve Bannon admitted that her father was expected to serve his full four-month prison term despite muted objections from some elected Republicans including House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

During a Monday interview on Real America's Voice, Maureen Bannon was asked what members of Congress were doing to free her father from prison after he was sentenced to four months for contempt of Congress.

"So you know, a few weeks ago, actually on July 22nd, Congress submitted another amicus brief, and we're waiting for the results of that amicus brief at this point," Ms. Bannon explained. "His case is still pending appeal through the legal channels."

"However, at this point, it looks like he will be serving the full four-month sentence and get released right before the election," she continued. "However, you know, once, once we find out more about this amicus brief that Congress submitted, I'll be able to come back on and provide an update."

Bannon faulted Johnson for not being more public about the effort to have her father released.

"I know that 'Just the News' with John Solomon and Amanda Head, they were actually the ones that broke that story because Speaker Mike Johnson didn't push out that he had filed or that Congress had filed another amicus brief," she complained. "They had filed one previously prior to my dad reporting to Danbury correctional facility on one July."

"However, no one pushed that this amicus brief had been filed [at] the end of July."
