Mike Pence admits he and Trump broke up 'amicably' — despite calls for his death Jan. 6

Former Vice President Mike Pence made it clear to Fox News host Sean Hannity that he and Trump are finished, but that it was an "amicable" parting, despite supporters calling for his death on Jan. 6, the Daily Beast reported Monday.

In the new book Peril by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa, Trump is quoted threatening the friendship with his then-VP if he didn't stop the certification of the 2020 election.

"I don't want to be your friend anymore if you don't do this," Trump reportedly said. Pence, however, went on to say that he was "proud" of what he did on Jan. 6. Still, when talking to Fox News host and Trump campaign adviser Sean Hannity, he didn't want to talk about his old job.

While he was forced to flee the Capitol floor for safety as Trump fans chanted "hang Mike Pence," he told Hannity that he'd moved on. He wasn't there to talk about the former president's hate for him and instead wanted to blast President Joe Biden.

"I knew it would be bad. We worked our hearts out in that campaign last year. But I didn't know it would be this bad," Pence said, promising he'd help win back the White House in 2024.

Pence went on to give key quotes like "weakness arouses evil" and promote his podcast.
