Conservative host forced to apologize after he's checked on mispronouncing Kamala Harris

A conservative British network host was forced to apologize after being corrected for repeatedly mispronouncing Vice President Kamala Harris' name even after being told the proper pronunciation. It's something Donald Trump also does.

Martin Daubney, a former Brexit Party Member of the European Parliament who then turned to the right-wing Reclaim Party, now hosts a show on weekday afternoons about news and politics. On Friday, he invited an American former congressional candidate, Democrat Qasim Rashid, a long-time human rights lawyer.

Daubney asked about Harris' CNN interview, where he pronounced the vice president's name incorrectly. Her nieces appeared at the Democratic National Convention in a short section where they explained to the world how to say her name.

"It's like a comma in a sentence," the elder one explained. The younger said the "la" is like singing, "la-la-la!"

Rashid detailed Harris' focus on the economy and the successes that have been achieved but highlighted the need to do more, such as bringing back the Child Tax Credit and fighting price gouging in the food industry.

Daubney mispronounced her name again, saying, "Kamala was probed on" issues like fracking and immigration.

"Yeah, again, her name is Kama-la not Kamal-a," said Rashid before he began to comment on the issues.

"Oh, come on, answer the point seriously," Daubney whined.

"I am serious," Rashid shot back. "I think we should show respect to the people that we're talking about."

He continued to reinforce the economic message until the end of the interview where Daubney thanked him and said, "Apologies for my pronunciation."
