Mitt Romney makes CPAC joke after returning to the Capitol with a black eye

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) joked about the revolutionary zeal at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Monday.

Despite being the GOP standard bearer in the 2012 election, less than a decade later Romney was not welcome at the event after voting to convict Donald Trump of inciting the fatal January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

"This year, I would actually be afraid for his physical safety, people are so mad at him," CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp told Greta Van Susteren.

Romney joked about the situation after returning to Washington, DC with a black eye following a visit to Boston.
