When Neil Gorsuch was being vetted for appointment to the Supreme Court, there was no girl's basketball team to appear on his behalf.
There also were not advertisements with women talking about what a "nice guy" he was.
Why was there a Nice Guy campaign on behalf of nominee Brett Kavanaugh?
MSNBC analyst Sam Seder said it was "quite a coincidence."
"For some reason there was an extended campaign, a lot of advertising, seemingly focused on women," he said. "It's not that much of a stretch to say maybe they saw a problem coming down the pike. They introduced us to the girl's basketball team that he coaches. There's an ad running with someone who doesn't know him as a lawyer, a woman who just knows him as a nice guy."
Seder pointed out that this is "a very odd tact to take."
"We didn't see this with Neil Gorsuch," he said. "This didn't come out of nowhere."
