MSNBC's Rachel Maddow awed by #ProtectMueller protests after tiring week: ‘Sometimes citizenship requires overtime and double shifts’

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow praised the civil engagement of Americans during one of the busiest weeks in American politics in recent history.

Maddow reported on the #ProtectMueller rallies occurring at more than 1,000 locations in all 50 states -- showing images and video of the marches in town after town.

"So people out in the streets tonight, and that's asking a lot of people, right, in terms of their civic engagement," she noted. "Just this week -- just two days ago -- everybody had to freakin' line up to vote, take time out of the day, in some cases take many hours out of the day to go vote on Tuesday," the anchor noted.

"Everybody stayed up late on Tuesday night, watching the election returns come in," she continued.

"Now it's just two days later, and thousands of people are out in the streets," she noted. "Over a thousand protests all around the country."

"Sometimes citizenship requires overtime and double shifts," Maddow concluded.
