MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow expects ‘imminent’ indictment of others linked to Russian agent Maria Butina

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow explained why there may be "imminent" additional prosecutions related to the case of Russian agent Maria Butina.

Maddow noted "a super, super unusual thing happened" in Butina's case after her guilty plea.

"It was a mistake. A document that was apparently supposed to be sealed, it was supposed to be completely shielded from public view, was accidentally posted online by the court in an unredacted form," Maddow explained.

Before the court took down the document, Washington Post reporter Spencer Hsu captured a screengrab of the document.

Maddow noted how the lawyers are continuing to litigate over whether there should be a gag order in the case despite Butina already pleading guilty.

"As this Court noted in its Order, the Local Rules impose a restriction on dissemination of information that will interfere with a fair trial in connection with pending criminal litigation [sic]," prosecutors filed with the court.
