MSNBC's Ruhle launches epic rant over Trump's 'nonsense' Time and CNN tweets: 'Hashtag - nobody cares'

Discussing Donald Trump's tweets over the holiday weekend, MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle blistered the president for wasting the country's time tweeting about being on a Time magazine cover, saying he needs to knock off the "nonsense."

Speaking with co-host Ali Velshi, Ruhle highlighted several tweets, including Monday morning's latest attack on rival network CNN, where Trump stated, "We should have a contest as to which of the Networks, plus CNN and not including Fox, is the most dishonest, corrupt and/or distorted in its political coverage of your favorite President (me). They are all bad. Winner to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!"

"He tweeted CNN is 'fake news,' saying it represented the country poorly to worldwide audiences," Ruhle explained. "These attacks on CNN by name come, by the way, as the Justice Department is trying to prevent a merger between AT&T and CNN's parent company Time Warner."

"Trump also went on the attack Friday on Time magazine, I have to slow this down, because this one blew my mind," she continued. "Time magazine contacted him about probably naming him person of the year, though he claims he turned the magazine down. So President Trump is tweeting, clearly making up this nonsense story of Time 'Person of the Year,' when earlier in the day, he said, after golf, I'll go back to Mar-a-Lago and talk about companies I'm bringing back to the United States, jobs."

"He never followed up on that, he never gave us any information about what really matters: bringing jobs back to the country," she scolded. "But he gave us this absolute nonsense story about 'Person of the Year.'

"Hashtag: nobody cares about that!" she concluded.
