MSNBC’s Ruhle rips White House complaints about tax plan coverage — after stonewalling her show for months

Taking time out from a discussion on the Trump tax plan headed for a vote in the Senate, MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle addressed her viewers and informed them that the White House has refused to provide her with someone working on tax reform after saying they would almost five months ago.

Sharing a clip of Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) saying it was up to Trump to use his office to get the new tax plan passed and that he is effectively doing that by using Twitter, Ruhle said she extended an invitation to let someone come on her show and discuss the merits, received an affirmative, and since has been ignored.

“I want to make something clear,” she explained as she turned from her guests to the camera. “So Bill Cassidy is saying the more we explain this bill to the American people, the more the president does.”

“I want to point something out," she continued. "It’s been 152 days since the White House has agreed to let me interview someone from the White House who’s working on tax reform. 152 days ago, I interviewed Gary Cohn. Since then, when the White House has been on this media tour, they have refused to give me a guest who is one of the architects of this bill.”

"The White House continues to say that the mainstream media doesn't cover tax reform, " she lectured. "We one hundred percent do, day in and day out. If Bill Cassidy thinks the answer is the president selling this bill, explaining it, mazel tov, welcome, come on over, I would love to discuss it."
