Mueller building 'brick-by-brick' narrative on Russian interference -- and won't implicate Trump until final report

A new report from Bloomberg claims that special counsel Robert Mueller will likely avoid implicating President Donald Trump until he releases his final report on his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

In the meantime, Bloomberg's sources say, Mueller will be "building out his case brick-by-brick in a set of legal filings, as he offers his most detailed narrative yet of Russia’s election interference."

According to Bloomberg, this case will involve "identifying any Americans who may have conspired with Russia to affect the 2016 election and what Russians hoped to get in return." Mueller is also still interested in probing whether Trump tried to obstruct justice when he abruptly fired former FBI Director James Comey in 2017.

The report also claims that Mueller is unlikely to recommend Trump's indictment in his final report, and will instead simply list potentially criminal activity that the president has engaged in and leave it up to the political process to determine whether he should be removed from office.
