Setting aside "Minnesota nice," Democratic Sen. Tina Smith told off billionaire Elon Musk after he lashed out at her for calling out his "ultimate d-ck boss move" where he threatened federal workers.
That has now grown into a social media battle.
On Saturday, after Musk wrote on X, "Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation," the Minnesota Democrat fired back on Bluesky.
"This is the ultimate d-ck boss move from Musk - except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a d-ck," she wrote before adding, "I bet a lot of people have had an experience like this with a bad boss - there’s an email in your inbox on Saturday night saying, 'Prove to me your worthiness by Monday or else.' I’m on the side of the workers, not the billionaire a--hole bosses."

Not one to take slight easily, the seemingly always online billionaire head of DOGE wrote to Smith on X, "What did you get done last week?"
That brought about a response from Smith –– who will be retiring at the end of her current term–– on Sunday morning.
"Elon, I hate to break it to you but you aren’t my boss. I answer to the people of Minnesota. But since you bring it up, I spent last week fighting to stop tax breaks for billionaires like you, paid for by defunding health care for moms and babies." she wrote.
