American Media, Inc., the publisher of the Trump-backing National Enquirer, has released a bizarre new magazine hyping up President Donald Trump's "Space Force" with outlandish promises that it will put covert bases on the nonexistent "dark side" of the moon.
BuzzFeed reports that the standalone magazine will be on sale through April and will cost $13.99 with no ads.
Even though the magazine is designed to promote one of Trump's signature initiatives that will not do any of the things that the magazine claims it will do, AMI is insisting to BuzzFeed that the White House had nothing to do with its publication.
"All of our Special Interest Publications are decided on, and directed by, internal editorial staff and produced without advertising support or external influence," an AMI spokesperson told BuzzFeed.
The magazine makes multiple bogus claims about what the Space Force will accomplish, including establishing life on Mars by 2050; a base located "covertly" on "the opposite, unseen ‘dark side’ of the moon"; and "space soldiers" with "superhuman powers" who are trained to do battle against aliens.
