Neo-Nazi leader claims hate group is volunteering for ICE: ‘we want these illegals to be deported’

As part of their investigation of the rise of hate crimes in Oregon, KPTV News interviewed the self-proclaimed leader of Oregon's National Socialist Movement, a neo-Nazi political organization.

"We want these illegals to be deported,” Kynan Dutton told KPTV. “We support ICE in any fashion and are actively volunteering for anything they will allow us to do."

Dutton did not elaborate on how many Oregon Neo-Nazis are volunteering with Immigration and Customs Enforcement nor did he explain what ICE would and would not allow Oregon's National Socialist Movement to do on the federal agency's behalf.

"Portland, most people identify as a left-wing city, but there's also a pretty stark and frightening racist under belly to that town," Ryan Lenz, senior investigative writer for the Southern Poverty Law Center, told KPTV News.

This is not the first time Dutton has been in the news.

Kynan Dutton was part of Craig Cobb's attempted neo-Nazi take-over of the town of Leigh, North Dakota.

"In a cell phone video shot by Dutton’s girlfriend and proudly posted online, the pair are shown marching through town with long guns, stopping vehicles and threatening and cursing residents. Dutton, 29, wears combat fatigues, but Cobb appears in an outfit composed of jeans, a windbreaker, white socks and sandals, not exactly the uniform of the Aryan movement. The white nationalist website Occidental Dissent posted the video under its “humor” tag and, a few months later, a story on the neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer conceded, 'He really did make a bad impression,'" the SPLC explained. "Within days of the incident, Cobb and Dutton were charged with seven felony counts of terrorizing."

Dutton told KPTV of his contempt for the Southern Poverty Law Center, a legal advocacy civil rights organization based in Montgomery, AL.

"I think the SPLC should be categorized as a hate group,” he rebutted. “They work actively to destroy people's personal lives."

Portland has long had a problem with the city's hipster street credibility hiding it's "Skinhead City" reality.
