New emails reveal contacts between Hillary Clinton's State Department and the Clinton Foundation

Even though Donald Trump is crashing and burning, Hillary Clinton is still facing fresh questions about how her staff interacted with the Clinton Foundation while she served as Secretary of State.

The New York Times reports that newly released emails show that the Clinton Foundation asked the State Department if it could put one of its billionaire donors in touch with the U.S. ambassador to Lebanon to discuss the donor's business interests in that country.

In another, the foundation seemed to pressure Clinton's aides to help a foundation associate find a job at the State Department. In that instance, Clinton aide Huma Abedin told a foundation representative that the associate is "on our radar" and "personnel has been sending him options."

The Clinton campaign responded by saying the emails showed no wrongdoing and it noted that none of the activity in them involved Secretary Clinton herself.

"Neither of these emails involve the secretary or relate to the foundation’s work," the campaign told the Times. "They are communications between her aides and the president’s personal aide, and indeed the recommendation was for one of the secretary’s former staffers who was not employed by the foundation."
