New poll shows Penn. voters think 'Philly Phanatic' is more qualified than Trump

A recent survey found that Donald Trump may have difficulty winning over the Philadelphia Phillies fan demographic.

The poll was conducted by Public Policy Polling, Philly.com reports. The pollsters asked voters who would be most qualified for the office of president and the Phillie Phanatic won 46 to 40 percent.

An additional 14 percent said they weren't sure who'd be better in the match-up.

The polling company surveyed just over 1,100 registered voters between June 3 and June 5.

Philly.com reports PPP takes a "liberal slant" but was the most accurate in predicting the 2012 election outcome.

The poll shows Trump's rival, Hillary Clinton, about even with him in a head-to-head match-up in the state. Clinton gains two points against Trump in a scenario in which he chooses Rick Santorum as his running mate, though.

Trump may have mistaken the pollsters for a trade pact during a speech this week, when an audience member shouted "No TPP," meaning "No Trans-Pacific Partnership."

Or maybe not.

According to the New Yorker, Trump responded, “No PPP. You're right about that." Then he said, "And you mean, no pee-pee.”
