New York county bans unvaccinated people from public places after measles outbreak
People who have not been vaccinated for measles are banned from public places in New York's Rockland County.
The county took the unusual step of declaring a state of emergency on Tuesday due to an outbreak of at least 153 measles cases since October, Rockland/Westchester Journal News reported.
"Starting at midnight, anyone who is under 18 and not vaccinated against the measles will be banned from public places," the report states. "This ban will last until the declaration expires in 30 days or until people are vaccinated."
