'Occupy Wall Street' protesters target Romney fundraiser

Protesters affiliated with "Occupy Wall Street" converged on the luxury hotel Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan on Wednesday, where a fundraiser for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was being held.

The Associated Press estimated that about a hundred people participated in the demonstration against corporate spending in politics.

Reverend Billy Taden of the Church of Stop Shopping also appeared at the demonstration with a gospel choir, singing "We are the 99 percent."

"We want to highlight the the nightmare of corporate personhood, and the selling of our democracy to the top bidder," the group explained on its website.

The protesters said they hoped their demonstration would "do more than just slam Romney for his political positions and rather critique a system in which a tool like Romney could be in the political position he’s in."
