An Ohio haunted house reportedly subjected visitors to a simulated rape — without having them sign a waiver.
Cleveland's ABC News 5 reported that Sarah Lelonek and her boyfriend Ryan Carr were visiting the Akron Fright Fest when an actor inside one of the event's haunted houses pretended to rape Carr.
Lelonek first reported the alleged incident — which took place inside a haunted house that did not require a waiver, as the "R-Rated" house at Akron Fright Fest does — on Facebook over the weekend.
"If you are a victim of sexual assault, do not go to the attached haunted houses," she said in the post. "They pushed my boyfriend down on a bed (which was plywood covered with a sheet in a [four-poster] bed frame) and humped him in front of me."
Lelonek went on to say that when she reported the incident to police, they said it was "fine." She also added that children were allowed in the non-waiver haunted house and alleged that actors at the Fright Fest "yell racial slurs."
In an interview with ABC5, Lelonek expounded on the incident.
"There was a man in a mask standing over my boyfriend," she said, "my boyfriend was on the edge and he was being pushed down."
The woman's boyfriend further described the scene.
"She comes over and yells, 'stop, what are you doing? That's my boyfriend,'" Carr said. "'Not anymore, he's mine now I'm going to rape him and then he started thrusting against me.'"
ABC5 noted that other people appeared to corroborate the existence of the rape scene on Facebook.
"It was 100 percent a rape scene," one user wrote.
"They did have a mock rape scene in one of the houses," another added.
In a private message to the news station, another visitor claimed that an actor "grabbed my ankles and shins and pulled my legs apart and was thrusting while telling me to scream 'papa.'"
